American reality TV star Jake Nodar recently spent eight action packed days in Iceland. The highlights of his trip was traveling to the highlands and the Icelandic men. Jake also made quite a scene at the Glacier Lagoon, posing almost naked on a unicorn raft.
“After filming both Naked and Afraid in the Amazon, and Naked and Afraid XL in South Africa over the last year, I was looking to go on an adventurous trip, without having to be naked or starving, and Iceland seemed like the perfect choice,” says American reality TV star Jake Nodar, who recently visited Iceland.
Jake is known for being very adventurous so I’m not surprised to hear that his days in Iceland were quite busy, to say the least.
“I spent eight action packed days in Iceland. I was traveling with my friends Matt and Joe, and we hit the ground running,” says Jake with a laugh and goes on.
“Shortly after landing, we made our way to the Blue Lagoon, then spent the evening in Reykjavik enjoying some amazing food and then hit Kiki for some drinks and dancing. The following day, we picked up our 4×4 truck with camper and began our journey around the country,” says Jake.
“I thought it would be fun to take a photo involving my inflatable unicorn raft … I’m sure I looked ridiculous walking across the parking lot filled with tourists with a three meter unicorn, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity.”
But that’s not all. He also made a visit to Jökulsárlón, the Glacier Lagoon, and kept guests entertained.
“I thought it would be fun to take a photo involving my inflatable unicorn raft, and when we arrived at the lagoon, I knew it was the perfect place. I’m sure I looked ridiculous walking across the parking lot filled with tourists with a three meter unicorn, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. I got in the freezing cold water, hopped on the raft, and magic was made!”
“The Icelandic men were VERY nice!”
Jake is an eager environmentalist and naturalist and is used to living in harsh conditions after being in reality TV shows like Naked and Afraid in the Amazon and Naked and Afraid XL, which was shot in South Africa and aired this past summer. How did Iceland compare to those exotic locations?
“Iceland exceeded all my expectations,” says Jake and goes on to reminisce about his most memorable moment in Iceland.
“My favorite part by far was the highlands. Forging rivers in our truck, driving over lava fields, and camping in freezing temperatures was such an amazing experience. We took a jeep trail off the F road for two hours until we reached Hveragil. We were the only people there. We set up camp in the
snow, and had the most amazing show from the northern lights. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky. It was a night I will never forget. The next morning we hiked down into the gorge, and had a long soak in the hot river before continuing our journey,” says Jake and smiles in a nostalgic daze.
So I must also ask him a pivotal question. Did he like the Icelandic men?
“The Icelandic men were VERY nice!” he says and sighs.
Will definitely return to Iceland
Before I let our adventurer go I have to ask him what’s next for him?
“Right now I am back to my job training horses. This winter I’ll be heading back to Los Angeles to figure out what’s next for me regarding television. Maybe I’ll get lucky and it will involve me coming back to Iceland. I will definitely be returning to your beautiful country!”
