Pink Iceland, the LGBT travel expert in Iceland, received a little unusual request the other day from an American couple getting married. Like most foreign couples Pink Iceland has helped with wedding arrangements the past year they were very much in love and really wanted to get married in Iceland. But unlike all they were the first heterosexual couple who has ever contacted the company.
“They sent us an email asking whether we could help them even though they were straight, after seeing pictures on our website they liked. And we replied saying of course it wasn’t an issue at all, we didn’t have any prejudices,” says Eva María, the proud founder and owner of Pink Iceland alongside Birna Hrönn and Hannes Páll. She adds with a big smile that discrimination of any kind goes against company policy.
So the couple got hitched at Thingvellir on a beautiful and rainy day. According to Eva María they have been together for nineteen years now and are expecting their first child. They broke the news tho their families the day after. Even though the bride’s mother was a little bit sorry not to have been present at the ceremony other family members were really happy.
