Prepare to put your mask on and dance to the beat of Iceland’s superstar Páll Óskar at the most glamorous LGBT party of the year, The Annual Masquerade Pink Party next Saturday, January 31st at Iðnó, a part of the Rainbow Reykjavik Winter Pride Festival.
The Masquerade Pink Party last year was a huge success and Páll Óskar has only one advice, “Be there early.” Icelanders are notorious night owls and tend to hit the bars and clubs very late in the evening, but since the party is a part of the Rainbow Reykjavik Winter Pride Festival in Iceland – which starts today, Thursday, January 29 – a big portion of the guests come from abroad. Páll Óskar is known for his spectacular and energetic performances which never disappoint. “I always give it my best and I’ll promise to keep the party going strong into the night,” he says.
Prices will be given for the best outfit and this is a great opportunity to go all out, specially for those who fancy a good masquerade and have a flair for the dramatic. The glamorous and mysterious theater Iðnó is the perfect setting for the Pink party since Masquerades were held there in the early twenties and they started with a walk down the main street where dressed up people carried torches all the way to the theater. This time there will be no torches but the fire will burn on the dance floor, Páll Óskar will see to that.

The Annual Masquerade Pink Party is on January 31st at Iðnó, at 22.30/10.30 PM. Tickets are on sale now at PinkIceland.is and there is a special price for members of Samtökin 78. Tickets will also be sold at the door. EXTRAS: Free drink with ticket before midnight.
Note: For those who want a little taste of the fun tonight (Thursday) the Rainbow Reykjavík Winter Pride Festival has lined up a welcome party at Kiki Queer bar. And a special Kiki Club Night tomorrow night (Friday). Kiki is Rainbow Reykjavik’s official bar and will offer great offers to Rainbow Reykjavik guests during the festival. The festival, which runs from the 29th of January to the 1st of February, is organized and hosted by Icelandic LGBT travel agency Pink Iceland.
