Helena Eronen, a member of the political party the True Finns, wants members of minority groups in Finland to wear sleeve badges for identification. Eronen suggest a rainbow flag for gay people, a crescent for Muslims, and a hammer-and-sickle for Russians. The main purpose is to help the finnish police to distinguish who is an immigrant and who is a Finn.
Eronen posted her views in a blog entry which has now been removed. The entry however caught the attention of the press and has caused quite a controversy, some saying that the idea is reminiscent of Nazis branding prisoners, Jews, gays etc. with armbands in concentration camps in World War II.
