RIFF, the Reykjavik International Festival, is currently showing dramas and non-fiction films from over 40 countries this year.
One of the films that caught our eye is gay documentary Call Me Kuchu. Kuchu is slang for gay in Uganda in Africa where homosexuality is met with death penalty. The film tells the story of one David Kato, the first man to come out of the closet in Uganda, and his struggle for the acknowledgement of gays, kuchus. It also follows the struggle of others after Kato was murdered at his home.
