The National Queer Organization (Samtokin ’78) has announced that singer Páll Óskar Hjálmtýsson and psychologist Sigrún Sveinbjornsdóttir will be awarded with the LGBT Human Rights Awards, at the Reykjavik Gay Pride opening ceremony on August 4th.
The awards are handed out every year to individuals and organizations that have worked for social acceptance of sexual and gender minorities and campaigning for LGBT rights.
This year HIV-Iceland will be the organization awarded with the Human Rights Award.
